Cult Dak Pedals Review (2026): Why They Feel So Planted

cult dak pedals review

If you’re on the hunt for tough-as-nails BMX pedals with a massive platform, look no further than the Cult Dak pedals.

These bad boys are built to handle serious abuse, and they’re the signature model of street legend Dakota Roche.

That should say enough, right?

These plastic BMX pedals are made from durable nylon composite and balance strength and weight like a champ.

The surface is both concave and micro-knurled, with 14 molded pins on each side to lock in your shoes—even when things get sketchy.

What’s more, the chromoly spindles are beefed up for added strength.

However, even though they come with unsealed bearings – that’s expected at this price point – they are still absolutely ready for any shredding, from tech to burly.

Cult Dak PC Pedals, Dakota Roche Review

1. Cult Dak Pedals Features & Build Quality

cult dak pedals features

When it comes to BMX pedals, features and build quality are everything.

And the Cult Dak PC pedals absolutely deliver.

These were designed with input from Dakota Roche himself, so every little detail is dialed in for real street riding.

Fun fact: I read somewhere that these pedals were made with the Vans sole in mind. (Could be, since Dak also rides for Vans.)

I’m not 100% certain if this is correct, but they definitely grip as hell on my Vans slip-ons.

  • Large platform: This is one of the standout features. If you like having more surface area under your feet, you’ll love these. Tailwhips? Easier to catch. Bigger feet? Way comfier. Control? Next level.
  • Increased durability: Nylon composite pedals can be long-lasting, and Dak’s signature pedals are a good proof. Whether you’re doing pedal or crank arm grinds, the extra “meat” on these gives you more contact and better performance.
  • Super grippy: The combo of a concave surface, micro-knurling, and 14 molded pins per side gives you that sticky, grippy feel we all want in a pedal. Your feet stay where they’re supposed to be.
  • Strong spindles: Cult didn’t mess around – they used beefy chromoly spindles, so you don’t need to worry about snapping them mid-session.

The design is clean, low-profile, and just works. Molded Cult wing logos also add that little aesthetic detail.

Pro tip: If you use pedals for grinding, use nail polish or some other marker to mark the non-grid side.

This will help you avoid grinding through pins on both sides too quickly.

2. How The Cult Dak Pedals Feel

how cult dak pedals feel

Right out of the box, these feel solid.

In fact, these are super grippy, so if you’re coming from old, beat-up pedals, you’ll notice the grip instantly.

Heck, you might even need to get used to it.

But it’s totally worth it.

The size of the platform makes your bike feel more stable, and you’ll instantly enjoy better control whether you’re hopping, spinning or grinding.

Personally, I can’t go back to small pedals.

A pedal with a larger platform feels better underfoot and makes tricks like whips and crank arm grinds easier to catch and lock.

But just resting your feet on the pedals like Dak’s feels so much comfier.

Also, if your shoe size is up there, this is your pedal. Trust me.

3. Cult Dak Pedals Riders’ Feedback

James D.: “I love these for crank arm grinds. The extra platform width just gives me more confidence.”

Tony M.: “I’ve got size 12 shoes, and smaller pedals always felt sketchy. The Dak PCs feel perfect.”

Eddy R.: “Switched from alloy to these and didn’t look back. Super grippy, and they’ve held up through all kinds of abuse.”

5. Cult Dak BMX Pedals Cons

  • Not lightweight. A pair of Dak pedals weighs around 15.4 oz / 436.6 g, so they’re not the lightest (but not heavy either!).
  • Loose-ball bearings. They work fine, but they usually need more cleaning/grease than sealed bearings. However, I normally don’t touch the bearings, just ride the pedals until it’s time for replacement.

Conclusion: Should You Get The Cult Dak Pedals?

are cult dak pedals worth it

Yup, even trails.

The Dak PC pedals are worth every penny.
