I’m sure everyone will find the ideal bar if searching for this rise.

Let’s do this!

This post covers:

Best 9.5 Inch BMX bars (2 piece)

(I’m 5’11”, and I was riding a 9.5″ bar for a very long time. Later, I switched to a 10″ bar, then dropped it again, and now settled on the 9.65″ option. Update: I went back to 10″ because barspins feel better.)

By the way, if you aren’t yet sure about switching to a 9.5″ bar, don’t miss my collection of the best 9.25 inch BMX bars.

1. Odyssey Super Highway Bar

odyssey super highway bar
With a perfect 9.5-inch rise, the Odyssey Super Highway bar strikes that ideal middle ground, giving you the height you want without going overboard.

The 41-Thermal process Odyssey uses is legit – these were put through some serious abuse, and they’re built like a tank, surviving everything from sketchy landings to relentless park and street sessions.

They’ve got some thoughtful features, too, like the multi-butted tubing that keeps them strong but light. I also like the slightly larger radius bends that just add to their durability.

Plus, the crossbar design is solid.

If you’re hard on your setup and need bars that won’t let you down, you’ll love these!

Odyssey Super Highway bar specs:

2. S&M Hoder Skyhigh Bar

sky high 9-5 bars
Once you get the S&M Hoder Skyhigh bar, you can pretty much ride it forever. This is the most indestructible bar I’ve ever ridden.

Even years later, my buddy still rides it, and it seems like it’ll last forever.

Friendly Reminder: Save BIG On Dan's Comp! (Click Banner ⬆️)

And if you’re a dude with wider shoulders, like Mike Hoder, that 31″ width will perfectly suit you.

Yeah, they’re on the heavier side at 43 oz, but that’s exactly why they’re insanely strong and can handle all the gnarly stuff.

The .083″ wall chromoly tubing and large center box section make them feel bombproof. And the “4Q Baked” heat treatment adds even more durability.

If you want bars that will survive through anything and feel solid under your hands, the Hoder Skyhigh bar is the way to go.

The only downside is that not all bar ends fit because they have thicker tubing.

S&M Hoder Skyhigh bar specs:

  • Width: 31″
  • Backsweep: 11°
  • Upsweep: 1.5°
  • Weight: 43 oz
  • Price: $89.95 (may vary)

3. Kink Helm Bar

kink helm bar
I got really stoked when I first held the Kink Helm bar in my hands!

These bars know how to mix strength and lightness to ensure you have the best time on your bike.

Kink nailed it with the multi-butted 4130 chromoly – thicker in all the right places, like the bends and welds, so they hold up to some serious abuse, but thinner where you don’t need the extra weight.

Fully heat-treated, these bars are built to last.

These are a win if you want reliable, long-lasting bars that feel solid.

For more ins and outs, read my in-depth Kink Helm bar review.

Kink Helm bar specs:

  • Width: 29.5″
  • Backsweep: 12°
  • Upsweep: 1°
  • Weight: 32 oz
  • Price: $74.99 (may vary)

4. Merritt Snake Bar

merritt snake bar
The Merritt Snake bar is another bar that looks extremely good because of its slightly larger, boxier fit.

Like other modern bars, these also feature heat-treated multi-butted 4130 chromoly tubing to keep the weight down.

At 29.25 inches wide, they give you solid control (but cut them if needed), and the 11° backsweep feels natural, making long sessions comfier.

Weighing just 30 oz, they’re pretty light but definitely tough enough for heavy street riding.

An impressive bar made for taking on any terrain with ease.

Merritt Snake bar specs:

  • Width: 29.25″
  • Backsweep: 11°
  • Upsweep: 1°
  • Weight: 30 oz
  • Price: $79.99 (may vary)

demolition fast loose bar
If you want a 9.5” bar that feels tough and solid, the Demolition X Fast & Loose bar is right in that lane.

It’s built from 13-butted 4130 chromoly, with a bigger center box section and thicker heat-treated tubing to handle heavy sessions. Plus, to look better!

The shape is modern and comfortable, with 12° backsweep and 2° upsweep, so your wrists don’t hate you after a long day.

The width sits at 29”, which keeps the front end controlled without feeling oversized.

And yeah… the vibe is exactly what the name says: “Pull Back or Die!”

6. Mission Command Bar

mission command bar 9-5
I added a very affordable 9.25″ bar option very high on the list for one good reason – many dudes ride the Mission Command bar and love it.

These bad boys are made from 4130 straight gauge chromoly (also one reason the price is low), so you know they’re built to last and handle all the abuse you can throw at them.

The 9.5-inch rise feels dialed, and the deeply knurled clamping area keeps everything locked down – no slipping, even on those heavy landings.

They’re wide enough for solid control at 29.5 inches and have a nice 12° backsweep for a comfortable grip.

But feel free to cut them to your ideal width. I run mine at just over 28″.

If you’re looking for reliable, super affordable bars that will hold up and feel great, these are the ones to get.

Mission Command bar specs:

  • Width: 29.5″
  • Backsweep: 12°
  • Upsweep: 1°

7. Cult Devon Bar

cult devon bar black
Cult’s Devon bar is Devon Smillie’s signature handlebar, built exactly the way he rides – clean, tough, and super dialed.

Made from 100% heat-treated butted chromoly, it stays strong in the high-stress areas while keeping weight down where it matters.

The 28″ width, 10.5° backsweep, and 3° upsweep give it a balanced, comfortable feel for tech street riding.

At 28″ wide, you likely won’t need to cut it – that’s how wide I run my bars.

With a tall 7″ crossbar, it’s stable without feeling bulky. Plus, this gives it a much cleaner look.

If you want a reliable 9.5″ bar with pro-level geometry, the Cult Devon bar is a killer pick.

Don’t forget to check out my Cult Devon bar review for more details.

Cult Devon bar specs:

It uses a 19mm crossbar and a wide center box section to keep everything stiff and durable, even during heavy street shredding.

Moreover, the clamping area is deeply knurled, so your bars stay locked in tight.

With a 29″ width and clean geometry, the Troop handlebar is a solid 9.5″ option for riders who want strength without the premium price.

9. Kink Union Bar

kink union bar
Kink’s Union bar is basically a perfect mix of classic feel and modern 4-piece style.

You get the traditional, comfy sweep of a 2-piece bar, but with that more aggressive 4-piece look.

It’s built from straight-gauge 4130 chromoly, so it’s made to take hits and keep going.

Moreover, the TruTherm post-weld heat treating adds extra strength where it matters most.

Sizing is dialed for a 9.5” setup with 29.25” width, 12° backsweep, and a low 1° upsweep.

Finally, the weight is around 37.7 oz, so it’s not light, but it’s definitely built for abuse.

10. Mission Crosshair Bar

mission crosshair bars
Crosshair bar by Mission is a terrific budget-friendly way to get into a 9.5” 4-piece setup without spending a ton.

Straight-gauge chromoly tubing keeps it tough for big drops, hard landings, and daily abuse.

The deeply knurled clamp area is a nice touch because it helps stop bar slip when you’re pulling hard or landing sketchy.

Sizing is modern and easy to work with: 9.5” rise and 29.5” width. The bend is comfy and familiar with a 12° backsweep and 1° upsweep.

If you want a strong 4-piece bar that looks good and gets the job done, this one’s a safe pick.

11. Nowear Tuk2 Bar

nowear tuk2 bars
Ready for something a little different?

Nowear’s Tuk2 Bar is made for riders who want maximum clearance up front, especially if you’re into tricks that require “leaning” over the bar.

These 4-piece bars are made in the USA (Nebraska) and built to take a beating.

The big standout is the deep crossbar shape, giving you more room for tuck no-handers, candy bars, and the like.

That same shape also helps with bar hops and other ground tricks, with less worry about tagging on the crossbar. If it ever happened to you, you know how much that sucks!

Clamp security is on point, too, thanks to aggressive knurling, so the bars are less likely to slip when you’re yanking hard.

Size-wise, you get a 9.5” rise and 30” width, with a 10° backsweep and 2° upsweep.

Note that this bar is on the heavy side at 41.6 oz, but that’s the trade-off for the “built like a tank” strength and clearance.

If you value clearance more than grams, the Tuk2 is a killer option.

Nowear Tuk2 bar specs:

  • Width: 30″
  • Backsweep: 10°
  • Upsweep: 2°
  • Weight: 41.6 oz
  • Price: $119.99 (may vary)

12. Fiend Raekes Bar

fiend raekes bar 9-5
But out of all the 9.5″ 4 piece bars available on the market, the Fiend Raekes bar looks absolutely the best.

(Although I like Begin’s signature Cult bar even more, but not available in 9.5″ rise.)

Johnny Raekes really dialed these bars in.

They feel perfect for solid control and smooth handling. The heat-treated chromoly tubing makes them super durable, and the butted crossbar keeps the weight down so they don’t feel bulky.

If you’re looking for bars that look clean and ride even better, you should definitely give these a shot.

They won’t disappoint!

Fiend Raekes bar specs:

  • Width: 29.5″
  • Backsweep: 12°
  • Upsweep: 1°
  • Weight: 37 oz

How To Make Your 9.5″ BMX Bar Last Longer

how to make your 9.5 inch bmx bar last longer

1. Keep An Eye On Your Clamp

One of the simplest ways to prolong the life of your 9.5″ BMX bars is to pay attention to how you tighten your stem clamp bolts.

Make sure everything is even when you’re tightening them up.

Uneven pressure can stress your bars, especially over time, and lead to unwanted wear or even cracks.

Take your time and snug up those bolts carefully.

2. Avoid Harsh Elements When Possible

Okay, I know it’s not always realistic to skip riding in the rain or mud, but try to avoid exposing your bike when you can.

Wet and muddy conditions can lead to rust and weaken your bars.

If you get caught in a downpour or go on a muddy adventure (who hasn’t?), always wipe down and dry your bars (and your bike) afterward.

It’s a small thing to do, but it makes a huge difference.

3. Watch Your Landing Technique

Landing heavy jumps puts a ton of pressure on your bars, so it helps to be mindful of how you’re coming down.

Working on landing with your weight more evenly distributed (not fully forward) can save your bars from unnecessary stress.

Plus, your wrists and back will thank you, too.

Make it smooth!

Important: Don’t throw your bike! (You can very easily ruin your bars by throwing your bike.)

4. Regular Check-Ins

Make it a habit to inspect your bars regularly for any signs of damage, cracks, or bends.

Even if they feel fine, you might catch something small before it becomes a big problem.

Give them a once-over occasionally to keep things safe and in good shape.

5. Keep Things Clean

You’d be surprised how dirt and grime can sneak into little crevices and cause issues.

Wipe down your bars every now and then and check for gunk buildup around the clamps, especially the welds.

It helps keep everything running smoothly and extends the life of your bars.

Plus, your bike will look way better!
