Cult Heaven’s Gate Begin Bar (2025 Review)

cult heavens gate brandon begin bar review

Looking for a fresh Cult Heaven’s Gate bar review before making the final decision?

The Heaven’s Gate Bar is a 4-piece handlebar designed for riders who want strength, control, and a clean aesthetic.

And when it comes to aesthetics, this is still the best-looking 4-piece BMX bar, in my opinion.

It’s not too narrow but not too boxy – they hit the perfect sweet spot.

Plus, with the new update, it’s finally available in the 10″ version.

As Brandon Begin’s signature bar, the bar combines classic geometry with modern construction, making it a top choice for BMX riders who prefer 4-piece designs.

Constructed from 100% heat-treated butted chromoly, this bar is built for durability and reliability, while keeping the weight low.

With a 28-inch width and multiple rise options, riders can easily find their perfect fit.

And because it’s already 28″ wide, you likely won’t even have to cut it.

Just put it on your bike, and you’re ready to rock-and-roll.

Cult Heaven’s Gate Begin Bar Review

1. Design & Build Quality

The Cult Heaven’s Gate bar is made from fully heat-treated butted chromoly.

This ensures it can handle heavy impacts and aggressive riding. Whether you go big or tech, the Begin bar will handle all your abuse.

The 4-piece construction adds extra stiffness compared to traditional 2-piece bars, making it an excellent option for riders who want a stronger, more responsive handlebar setup.

You do feel your landings a little more, especially if you land nose-first.

But pair this bar with the Merritt Phantom tire at 2.5″ width and slightly lower PSI and that feeling will go away. (Also, some thicker grips like S&M Hoders will make it all feel more comfortable, too.)

The design includes Brandon Begin’s signature Heaven’s Gate stickers, adding a unique touch to this already super stylish bar.

2. Cult Heaven’s Gate Bar Key Features

  • 100% heat-treated butted chromoly: Ensures strength and longevity. And because the tubbing is butter, the bar isn’t heavy, even at a 10″ rise.
  • 4-piece construction: Stiffer than 2-piece bars but gives your bike an awesome old-school-ish look.
  • Available in multiple rise options: Choose based on your riding preference, starting at an 8.8″ rise.
  • Cut marks: The bar comes with cut marks, so customizing the width is even easier. (I ride my bars at 28″.)
  • Brandon Begin’s signature bar: Designed for control and comfort, aiming at more technical and unique shredding. (But feel free to use this bar for anything because it works.)
  • Comes in black and chrome: Classic color options to match any setup.

3. How Heaven’s Gate Bar Rides

The Cult Heaven’s Gate bar delivers a stiff and responsive feel, making it an excellent choice for street and park riders.

The 28-inch width provides solid control (without the need to cut it), while the 11.5° backsweep and 3° upsweep offer a comfortable wrist position.

When I first tried the 3° upsweep, I thought it would be a bit much, but so far, it’s the comfiest upsweep angle I’ve ever ridden.

I’m currently testing the Cult Crew bar with a 2° upsweep, and I’m already missing those three degrees.

Riders who enjoy technical, original riding will appreciate how the bar enhances their bike handling and overall style.

This is an excellent option (my favorite!) if you like 4-piece bars for their rigidity and control.

4. Real Rider Feedback

  • “I’ve been riding these bars for months, and they have held up perfectly. They feel sturdy and well-balanced, exactly what you’d want from a high-end bar.” – Frank R.
  • “They’re stiff and provide excellent control. The balance between strength and comfort makes them feel just right for all kinds of riding.” – Aaron C.
  • “After all these years, I’m stoked that these bars are finally available in 10″ rise. I’ve been riding the 9.65″ for years and it’s my absolute favorite bar. I tried pretty much all other 4pc bars, but Begin’s ticks all the boxes for me.” – Wayne C.
