Do you need something more stable and are searching for the best 52mm reach BMX stems?
This stem offers a great balance of control and stability, particularly for riders who like to go fast and shred trails and transitions the most.
However, if you’re a taller rider and ride street and tech, this one might feel just right for you. (Because shorter stems might be too twitchy.)
As someone who’s spent countless hours tweaking setups and testing gear, I know how much of a game-changer the right stem can be.
It’s not just about keeping your bars in place; it’s about finding a seamless connection between you and your bike.
A 52mm reach BMX stem is perfect for riders who want more room upfront without compromising precision.
So, if you want to upgrade your setup and take your riding to the next level, let’s dive into the top 52mm stems.
Each one brings something unique to the table – whether it’s strength, style, weight savings, or all-around performance.
Trust me, these picks won’t disappoint!
This post covers:
Best 52mm BMX Stems
1. S&M Enduro V2 Stem
The S&M Enduro V2 stem is a tank of a top load stem – built for riders who value strength and reliability.
I’ve been riding it for one and a half years and only replaced it because I wanted to try a different rise.
Made in the USA from solid 6061 aluminum, it skips the trendy cutouts and keeps things solid where it matters most.
The smooth, rounded edges give it a sleek vibe, while the recessed compression bolt area keeps your setup looking sharp.
The engraved S&M logo on the side is a nice flex, showing off the brand’s legacy.
With its beefy bolts and smart design, this stem holds tight and feels rock-solid, no matter how hard you send it.
Enduro specs:
- Rise: 34mm
- Weight: 13.4 oz
- Price: $64.95 (may vary)
2. Odyssey BOSS V2 Stem
The Odyssey BOSS V2 52mm BMX stem is all about grip and durability, and it totally delivers.
Designed for Aaron Ross, it has unique surface contouring that locks your bars in place like glue.
The oversized bolt heads give it extra muscle, making clamping your bar and steerer tube feel unstoppable.
Made from 6061-T6 aluminum and CNC machined for precision, it’s as tough as it looks.
If you’re into no-compromise performance with a stem that screams reliability, this one’s a no-brainer.
The BOSS stem is built for bosses, ensuring you take a beating and keep on rolling like a champ.
BOSS specs:
- Rise: 35mm
- Weight: 11.9 oz
- Price: $69.99 (may vary)
3. S&M Credence Turtleneck Stem
The S&M Credence Turtleneck stem brings old-school vibes with a modern twist.
It’s inspired by the classic Challenger but slimmed down for a lighter, more clean-cut feel.
The notched clamping area keeps it strong yet lightweight, and those chamfered edges? Pure perfection for protecting your knees during wild sessions.
Everyone knows that hitting your knees in the stem is the worst!
The Credence logo on the faceplate adds a nice custom touch, and the chromoly bolts mean it’s built to last.
This stem is tailored for BMX riders who want a balance of style, durability, and ultimate performance.
Credence Turtleneck specs:
- Rise: 24.5mm / 7mm
- Weight: 11.4 oz
- Price: $64.95 (may vary)
4. Odyssey Boyd Stem
What I really like about Odyssey stems is that they are slightly chunkier than the rest.
They just feel so solid in hand.
And the Odyssey Boyd 52mm BMX stem is no different. is all about mixing style with function.
Boyd Hilder‘s signature design is all about mixing style with functionality.
Made from CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum, this stem feels sturdy without being too heavy.
But hey, if it’s built for Boyd, a little heavier stem makes sense. And with that in mind, you know that this is the product you can trust 110%.
Plus, the little palm tree etching? It brings the good vibes to every session.
So if you need a stem that can absolutely hold up everything, then I highly recommend opting for the BOYD one.
Boyd specs:
- Rise: 30mm
- Weight: 13.1 oz
- Price: $69.99 (may vary)
5. Fiction Spartan TL Stem
The Fiction Spartan TL stem is a solid choice if you want something affordable and reliable for everyday riding.
Its forged 6061 aluminum construction and cold-forged faceplate make it sturdy enough for most setups. (This process makes the stem so affordable.)
I like how the rounded pinch bolt area saves your knees – it’s a nice little touch that makes a big difference.
It might not be ideal for super advanced riding, but it’s got your back for cruising and lighter sessions.
This one should be good to go even if you’re primarily riding trails and transitions with smooth landings.
Plus, the color options let you match your ride perfectly.
Spartan specs:
- Rise: 35mm
- Weight: 11.1 oz
- Price: $24.99 (may vary)
How To Make Your 52mm BMX Stem Last Longer
Keeping your 52mmBMX stem in top shape is easier than you might think.
A little care goes a long way in ensuring your stem stays solid and reliable, session after session.
Here are a few tips I’ve picked up to help you get the most out of your stem over the years.
First, always make sure your bolts are snug, but don’t overtighten them.
A torque wrench can be your best friend here – it’ll prevent you from accidentally stripping threads or stressing the bolts.
Also, check the bolts for any rust. If they get a little rusty, that’s OK, but if they stay rusty for a long time (I’m speaking years), it’s best to replace them.
Also, when tightening stem bolts, ensure you do it evenly. Otherwise, you can put unnecessary stress on the stem and treads and damage it.
It has happened to me twice, and when the tread is ruined, you can only replace the stem with a new one.
And I don’t want that to happen to you.
Additionally, it’s handy if you keep the clamping area and the stem clean.
While this won’t have a direct impact on the stem’s longevity, whipping will help you spot cracks or wear.
Note: If you take care of your bike, it’ll take care of you in return.
With a little TLC, your 52mm reach stem can handle everything you throw at it (just don’t throw your bike!) – and maybe even outlast the rest of your setup.
Keep shredding.
