WeThePeople Swamp Master BMX Bike (Review)

wethepeople swamp master bmx bike review

The WeThePeople Swamp Master bike is one of the most unique BMX bikes ever made.

It is a full suspension BMX bike, built to merge BMX and downhill mountain biking into one wild ride.

Yes, you read that right. A BMX DH bike, if you will.

If you love BMX but want to tackle terrain that isn’t traditionally BMX-friendly, this is the bike to do it.

It’s so much fun and looks dope, too!

With a full 4130 chromoly frame, a 100mm travel fork, hydraulic disc brakes, and oversized Kenda 2.6” tires, the Swamp Master is a one-of-a-kind machine that brings BMX-style riding to MTB trails and downhill courses.

What about streets and parks? Sure, that works, too. (But I’d get a separate pair of slicker tires.)

But trails and pump/MTB/DH tracks are where you’ll have the most fun with this bike.

Let’s dig deeper into the Swamp Master.

Fun fact: This is not the first ever BMX bike with suspension.

WeThePeople Swamp Master BMX Bike Review

1. Design & Build Quality

wethepeople swamp master bmx bike design and build quality

The Swamp Master bike is built tough.

And that’s exactly what you’d expect from a bike in that price range.

The full 4130 chromoly frame ensures durability, while the SR Suntour Raidon LO rear shock and Manitou Machete J-Unit Expert fork provide 100mm of suspension travel to handle rough terrain.

Unlike traditional BMX bikes, the Swamp Master features hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear, giving it unmatched stopping power in the BMX world.

Surprisingly, some BMX frames, like the WTP Chaos Machine, also come with disc mounts. However, I’d never use disc brakes for street – not grind-friendly.

But for pegless riding, sure, why not!

The Kenda Kaos 2.6” tires add extra grip and stability, helping it tackle everything from dirt jumps to rocky trails.

Those things are BIG.

With a mix of BMX and MTB components, this bike is designed for riders looking to push boundaries and take BMX into uncharted territory.

But most importantly – it’s all about having fun, and that’s what you’ll surely have with the Swamp Master.

2. WeThePeople Swamp Master Bike Key Features

wethepeople swamp master bmx bike features

  • First full suspension BMX bike: An epic blend of BMX and MTB/DH.
  • Full 4130 chromoly frame: Maximum strength and durability.
  • Manitou Machete J-Unit Expert fork (100mm travel): Absorbs big impacts. (Some big guys in the MTB/DH space even say that 100mm travel is more than enough, even for serious shredding.)
  • SR Suntour Raidon LO rear shock: Keeps the ride smooth over rough terrain.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes (Bengal Ares 3) front and rear: Provides powerful and reliable braking.
  • Éclat Bondi double-wall rims (38mm wide): Extra strong for heavy-duty riding. (That width works great with the wider tires.)
  • Kenda Kaos 2.6” knobby tires: Optimized for dirt, trail, and aggressive riding. (If you plan to ride on asphalt often, I recommend switching to slicker tires.)
  • Éclat Exile disc hubs: Strong, smooth, and built for high speeds.

With all the MTB and DH hype that overcame BMX riders right now, the Swamp Master makes perfect sense to me.

3. How WTP Swamp Master BMX Bike Rides

how wethepeople swamp master bmx bike rides

The Swamp Master is unlike any other BMX bike.

The suspension and disc brakes give it a completely different feel. They make it much more capable on rough terrain, downhill courses, and trails.

With a 21.5” top tube and 14.1”-14.8” chainstay, it maintains a BMX-like feel while offering more stability at higher speeds.

The 71° head tube angle and 70° seat tube angle provide a relaxed geometry, making it comfortable for aggressive riding.

If you’re used to a rigid BMX, the suspension will take some getting used to, but once you dial it in, you’ll unlock a whole new way to ride BMX.

4. Real Rider Feedback

  • Jerry R. (MTB/BMX hybrid rider): “This bike is insane! It feels like a BMX but can handle terrain that would usually destroy a regular 20-inch (or me, lol).”
  • Tyler C. (dirt jumper): “The suspension helps so much on rough landings. I never thought I’d ride a full-sus BMX, but I love it!”
  • Noah K. (freestyle/trail rider): “Handles jumps well, and the disc brakes make a huge difference when hitting steeper lines.”
  • Nathan D. (BMX purist turned trail rider): “Took this to the bike park, and people were shocked. It rides like nothing else. I should get it as soon as it came out.”
