The Cult Devon bar is – hence the name – Devon Smillie’s signature handlebar.
They are designed to match his smooth, tech-heavy riding style.
And you can now bring that to your bike.
These bars bring comfort, control, and durability in a sleek, modern design.
If you’re searching for a strong bar with a clean aesthetic and just the right geometry for technical riding, these are a top-tier pick.
Made from 100% heat-treated butted chromoly, they’re built to last.
The larger, rounded box adds both style and structural strength, and the cut marks make it super easy to dial in your ideal width.
But the 28″ width that comes uncut is pretty perfect for me. (The first bar that I can just install without doing anything to it beforehand. What a time saver!)
Also, I really like that Cult finally brought to the market a 9.75″ rise bar. (But the Devon bar is also available in a 9.5″ rise.)
Cult Devon Bar Review
1. Build Quality & Features
This bar is heat-treated and butted in all the right places.
This makes the bar thicker where strength is needed and thinner where weight can be shaved off.
This results in a tough bar that doesn’t feel heavy.
But my favorite feature: The rounded, larger box design.
It stands out visually, and it’s something more brands should be doing. It just makes the bars look and feel more premium.
The first bar, I remember, with a wider box was the S&M Hoder, then came the Shadow Vultus, but I kinda like the Cult Devon bar the most.
Also, the Devon bar comes in two rise options – 9.5″ and 9.75″ – with a 28″ width and a comfortable 10.5° backsweep and 3° upsweep.
Whether you want a slightly lower front end or need more rise for better leverage, there’s a size here for you.
- 100% heat-treated butted chromoly
- Rounded large box design for added strength and unique style
- Cut lines for easy width customization
- Available in black and chrome to match your setup better
2. How Cult Devon Bar Rides
The Cult Devon bar feels locked in and solid straight out of the box.
Whether you’re nose manualing a ledge, tossing barspins, or holding long icepicks, the geometry gives you a natural, confident grip.
- The 10.5° backsweep puts your wrists in a comfortable position, especially helpful if you ride for long sessions.
- And the 3° upsweep adds just enough lift for those who like a more upright hand position.
In fact, the 3° upsweep feels the best in my arms.
Honestly, I wish more bars came in a 9.75″ rise – it’s the sweet spot for riders who like a little extra height but don’t want to go full-on 10″.
And with 28″ width, there’s no need to cut them down unless you ride super narrow.
Pro tip: Barspins are fast with a 28″ width bar.
I also want to mention that if you’d cut this bar to much, it’ll probably look very weird because of the wider box design.
