Cult Solo Grips (2025 Review)

cult solo bmx grips review

If you’re looking for soft grips that feel amazing right out of the gate, the Cult Solo grips are definitely worth checking out.

Made in collaboration with ODI in the USA, these grips offer the proven quality and comfort we love.

What makes them special?

A lot.

The Solo grips use ODI’s exclusive rubber compound, which delivers an ideal balance between softness and durability.

The wave-like ribbed design adds a cushy feel while still keeping things grippy when your hands get sweaty.

Compared to the old Cult Ricany grips (RIP), the Solo grips are slightly thicker, which makes a noticeable difference for riders who like a bit more padding.

Yup, that’s me.

And instead of the Par end-style bar ends that came with the Ricany grips, these come with push-in style plugs.

Not a huge deal, but worth noting.

These grips are flangeless, so they keep your setup sleek and simple.

Cult Solo BMX Grips Review

1. Features & Build

cult solo grips features

When it comes to construction, the Cult Solo grips are top-notch.

They’re made in the USA in partnership with ODI, using their premium Krayton rubber compound.

This ensures they’re soft without sacrificing long-term durability.

However, if you don’t like the slight sticky-factor that some grips come with (I’m not the biggest fan), these grips might not be for you.

  • Flangeless design for a clean look
  • Made from ODI’s proprietary Krayton rubber
  • Super soft and grippy feel
  • Wavy rib pattern adds padding and traction
  • Plastic push-in bar ends included
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Length: 160mm

2. How Cult Solo Grips Feel

cult solo grips specs

Right out of the package, these grips feel like they’ve already been broken in.

The extra thickness gives them a super plush feel, but they’re not spongy.

The ribs help absorb vibration and don’t get slick when your hands sweat.

You’ll feel locked in without needing a death grip.

They also wear in nicely without turning to mush. You’ll get plenty of sessions out of these before thinking about a fresh pair. (And the next pair might again be the Solo grips.)

And these work well whether you run with or without gloves.

Regarding installation, it doesn’t really matter how you do it. Having the logo on either the inside or the outside works.

  • Marcos F.: “They remind me of the Ricany grips, but better. More comfortable, and they last longer.”
  • Dre H.: “I like grips with a little more meat to them, and the Solo ones are perfect. Super comfy and they hold up well.”
  • Kris J.: “Installed them and didn’t look back. Super grippy, and I don’t even wear gloves. These are staying on all my bikes.”

Conclusion: Should You Get The Cult Solo Grips?

should you get the cult solo grips

The Cult Solo grips are a solid upgrade that adds serious comfort and control to your bike.

They feel broken-in from day one, they don’t slip when things get sweaty, and they last longer than you’d expect for soft grips.

Whether you’re smashing street lines or just want a cushy grip to keep your hands feeling good, these are a no-brainer.

And at just under $12, they’re an easy decision.

If you were a fan of the Ricany grips or want something plush and durable, try the Solo grips. These are banger!
