Are you searching for the best 25T BMX sprockets on the market?
Do you need it with or without the guard?
I’ve included them both.
I’ve been riding a 28T sprocket for a long time, but switching to a 25T made all the difference.
I do a lot of street riding, mainly technical, without needing to pedal super fast, and this sprocket size works fantastic for that.
And if you need to gain speed quickly, a 25T sprocket does the trick.
I’ve been trying to figure out which BMX sprocket is tough enough to handle all the abuse while still looking clean and keeping things smooth.
With so many options out there, it’s easy to get lost in the details – thickness, materials, guards, or no guards – it can get a bit overwhelming, right?
That’s why I’ve put together this list of the best 25T BMX sprockets.
I’ve done the digging so you don’t have to, looking at durability, design, and overall performance.
Let’s go!
This post covers:
- Best 25T BMX sprockets without guard
- Best 25T BMX sprockets with guard
- How to make your 25T sprocket last longer
Best 25T BMX Sprockets Without Guard
1. Haro Baseline Sprocket
Haro’s Baseline sprocket has a clean, classic design. It’s made from forged 6061 aluminum, so it’s super durable but doesn’t add any extra weight to your setup.
The 6mm thickness on the spindle is just right, and even though it’s super lightweight at only 1.7 oz for the 25T, it’s still tough enough to handle whatever you throw at it. (Okay, almost.)
Just a heads-up though, it doesn’t come with the adapter, but it’s no big deal. Plus, the black color gives it that sleek, minimalist look. (But is also available in blue and red.)
Price: $19.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS2. Shadow Cranium Sprocket
I’ve rode the Shadow Conspiracy Cranium Sprocket for approx. a year, and it’s awesome.
Not only does it look super cool with the skull and bones graphic, but it’s also made from 7075-T6 alloy, so you know it’s tough.
You can get it in 25T (or 28T), and it even comes with adapters for 19mm and 22mm spindles, so no worries about compatibility.
Weighing in at just 2.6 oz for the 25T, it’s light without sacrificing strength.
I highly recommend it if you’re looking to upgrade your ride.
Price: $34.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS3. Odyssey Boyd Sprocket
This is Boyd Hilder‘s signature sprocket, and the five-spoke design is super sleek.
The cool part is how the spoke thickness increases toward the center, giving it even more durability.
The dome shape adds a fang-inspired style, which just looks sick. It comes in black, weighs only 2.8 oz for the 25T, and comes with adapters for 19mm and 22mm spindles.
If you’re pushing your bike to the limit, like Boyd, this sprocket can handle it.
Price: $49.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS4. Profile Imperial Sprocket
One thing’s for certain: The Profile Imperial sprocket is a beast made in the USA.
The 18-spoke design helps reduce flex, which is perfect if you’re looking for something strong and reliable.
It’s CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, so it’s lightweight but still super tough. This one fits most 3-piece chromoly cranksets, and it’s a “bolt-on” style, so you’ll need a sprocket bolt to attach it to the crank arm.
We can all agree that getting a Profile Racing BMX part is definitely a solid upgrade.
Price: $47.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS5. Merritt Ackerman Sprocket
Many dudes reported to me that the Merritt Ackerman sprocket is exactly what they were looking for.
The design is original yet simple, but don’t let that fool you – this thing is street-strong, ready for any abuse.
It’s got laser-etched logos that give it a nice, stylish touch without being over the top.
It fits a 24mm crank spindle, but it also includes adapters for 19mm and 22mm spindles.
Weighing 2.6 oz for the 25T, this thing is built to last. Definitely an epic choice for any (street) setup!
Price: $50.00 (may vary)

6. Odyssey Utility Pro Guard Sprocket
One of the things I really like about the Odyssey Utility Pro Guard sprocket is that it’s a cool throwback to the old-school Havok Sprocket Pocket.
Don’t you think?
It’s made from 7075-T6 aluminum to ensure amazing durability. What I love is the removable plastic guard – totally your call if you want to run it with or without it, and it looks great either way.
It’s perfect if you need some extra protection but still want a clean look. The sprocket fits a 24mm bore but also contains 19mm and 22mm adapters.
The Odyssey Utility Pro Guard sprocket feels like a terrific, but it is a modern upgrade with a little nostalgia.
Price: $49.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS7. Sunday Knox V2 Guard Sprocket
Many pro and AM riders opt for the Sunday Knox V2 Guard sprocket for one main reason: because it’s strong AF!
The updated design gives it a neat look, and the refined geometry makes it even better than the first version.
What’s cool is that it has five rotatable bolt hole positions, so you can mount it in whatever way works best for your setup.
Moreover, it fits all BMX chains and comes with adapters for 19mm and 22mm spindles. Finally, the 25 T weighs 5 oz, which is pretty rad for a guard sprocket.
Price: $59.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS8. Cinema Beta Guard Sprocket
Honestly, the Cinema Beta Guard sprocket is, for me, one of the better-looking ones that you currently get on the market.
The 6061-T6 aluminum is super sturdy, and it’s 8mm thick at the spindle, so you know you’ll have it on the bike for some time.
What’s even better is the high-impact plastic guard – it fits perfectly onto the sprocket and is secured with four bolts, so there’s no annoying rattling.
The whole setup feels really reliable, and it’s designed to take serious abuse. Weighing in at 6.3 oz for the 25T, it will keep you rolling through anything.
Price: $54.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS9. Shadow Sabotage Guard Sprocket
I’ve been running the Shadow Conspiracy Sabotage Guard sprocket for multiple months now, and I’m still surprised at how well it holds up – especially the plastic guard!
It’s perfect for sliding through grinds; when it wears out, you can replace the guard instead of the whole sprocket.
Although I purchased an additional guard, I haven’t yet replaced it.
Furthermore, it fits all 1/8″ BMX chains, including the Shadow Interlock and Supreme. And at 5.3 oz for the 25T, it’s durable without being too heavy.
This one is fantastic for saving both your chain and your wallet!
Price: $38.99 (may vary)
GET YOURS10. Odyssey La Guardia Sprocket
The Odyssey La Guardia sprocket has a fully built-in guard, so you don’t have to worry about hitting your chain on anything.
The sprocket gets thicker as it reaches the guard, making it extra tough. It’s made from 7075 aluminum, so it’s strong but still light, weighing just 4.5 oz for the 25T.
The La Guardia sprocket has one of the best strength-to-weight ratios!
If you’re looking for a bulletproof guarded sprocket that can take some hits yet is light, this one’s a no-brainer.
Price: $59.99 (may vary)
GET YOURSHow To Make Your 25T Sprocket Last Longer
Alright, so if you want to make your 25-tooth BMX sprocket last longer (who doesn’t?!), here are a few things that really help.
Chain Tension
First, keep your chain tension in check.
If the chain’s too tight or too loose, it’ll wear down both your chain and sprocket way faster.
A well-tensioned chain spreads the load evenly and helps everything last longer.
I know that many dudes out there currently ride with a very loose chain, but that’s a no-go.
Also, the sound that chain makes when hitting the frame is the worst – at least for me!
Clean & Lubed Chain
Second, make sure you’re cleaning and lubing your chain regularly.
Dirt and grime will grind down your sprocket over time.
A clean chain means less friction, and that’s a win for both the sprocket and your ride.
Everything will run smoother and more silent.
Avoid Bashing The Sprocket
Also, try not to bash the 25T sprocket too hard on grinds – unless you’ve got a guard sprocket, of course.
Those impacts can chip away at the teeth over time.
If you’re into doing heavy grinds, consider investing in a guard sprocket or running one with a plastic guard for extra protection.
Chain Alignment
Lastly, keep an eye on your chain alignment.
If it’s misaligned, it’ll chew up your sprocket teeth unevenly, and that’s no good.
Regular BMX bike maintenance, like checking everything’s running smooth, can seriously extend the life of your sprocket.
Hey, if you’re doing a lot of grinds, your wheel might get angled and that’s no-good for your sprocket.
Simple stuff, but it goes a long way.
