The Kink Downside BMX Bike is constructed with a 100% 4130 chromoly frame, fork, and bars. This quality trio ensures maximum durability without unnecessary weight.
But there’s more.
The butted & tapered fork legs add to the bike’s stiffness and responsiveness, helping it handle technical tricks and heavy landings with ease.
One of the standout features is the TruTherm heat-treated Kink Foundry bars, which increase strength while maintaining a lightweight feel.
Combined with the 48mm Kink Brute stem, these bars provide a rock-solid front-end setup that won’t flex under pressure.
Note: A shorter stem does help with barspins.

The only thing I’m surprised Kink did is put a 9.5″ rise bar on this bike. It already has a top load stem and a high rise spacer.
I’m mainly saying this because it has a 20.75″ top tube, so the bike isn’t meant for taller riders by default.
But if the front end feels too tall, you can easily lower it by replacing the existing spacer with a much lower one.
