Note: If you’re yet unsure about switching to 9.75″ rise bar, check out my collection of the best 9.5 inch BMX bars.
1. Kink Foundry Bar
The Kink Foundry bar is a classic, no-nonsense two-piece bars, and it doesn’t mess around.
Made from straight gauge 4130 Chromoly, they’ve got that heat-treated toughness you can trust, even when you’re really sending it.
What I love about them is that there are zero gimmicks – just pure, raw strength.
The 12° backsweep and 1° upsweep feel super dialed, and the 29.5” width gives you total control. (But feel free to cut it to any width you like the most.)
If you want bars that can take a beating and still keep you shredding hard, these are it.
Foundry bar specs:
- Width: 29.5″
- Backsweep: 12°
- Upsweep: 1°
- Weight: 36.4 oz
- Price: $54.99 (may vary)
2. Theory Bypass Bar
Right away, I want to point out that Theory did an amazing job of bringing an epic strength-to-price ratio with the Bypass bar.
These bars are made from full chromoly, so they’re built tough and can handle whatever you throw at them.
With a 29.5” width, you get all the leverage and control you need to stay in charge, whether hitting the park or cruising street spots.
I like the black finish a lot (though the chrome looks sick, too!), and the 12° backsweep and 2° upsweep feel comfy.
They’re heavier at 41 oz, but for that price, the Bypass bar is totally worth it.
Bypass bar specs:
- Width: 29.5″
- Backsweep: 12°
- Upsweep: 2°
- Weight: 41 oz
- Price: $39.99 (may vary)
3. S&M Hoder Superhigh Bar
And now, my dudes, the Mike Hoder‘s signature S&M Superhigh bar.
If you really want a bar that can REALLY handle just about anything, drop everything and get this one.
I’ve been riding the Hoder bar for years, and this thing is indestructible.
The Superhigh bar is made in the USA with straight gauge .083” thick 4130 chromoly tubing, so yeah, they’re a bit heavy at 43.2 oz, but that’s because they’re built to last.
The dual radius bends and big top bend make the bar insanely strong – but I also really like the look.
These are solid gold if you want bars that won’t quit on you.
Superhigh bar specs:
- Width: 31″
- Backsweep: 11°
- Upsweep: 1.5°
- Weight: 43.2 oz
- Price: $79.95 (may vary)
4. Merritt Andre Bar
The Merritt Andre bar in the 9.75″ rise is sick!
They’re a 2-piece design made from heat-treated, multi-butted 4130 chromoly, so they’re crazy strong but still lightweight at only 32.1 oz.
The tubing is thicker in high-stress areas and thinner where unnecessary, keeping them super dialed without the extra weight.
Honestly, they ride so smooth and feel perfect – worth checking out if you want to upgrade your street (or park) setup!
Andre bar specs:
- Width: 29.25″
- Backsweep: 12°
- Upsweep: 2°
- Weight: 34.1 oz
- Price: $79.99 (may vary)
5. Eclat Controller Bar
The Eclat Lewis Mills Signature Controller bar is an awesome investment to help you take your riding to the next level.
And knowing they hold Lewis tells you more than enough.
Built from seamless 4130 chromoly and fully liquid heat-treated, the Controller bar is built for serious durability – no worries about them snapping on you.
The butting is spot-on, with extra thickness (1.8mm) at the bends for maximum strength.
They are 29.5” wide and perfectly balance control and comfort, with an 11° backsweep and 2° upsweep.
This bar rides smoothly and feels so solid – just what you need.
If you want bars that can handle whatever, go Controller.
Controller bar specs:
- Width: 29.5″
- Backsweep: 11°
- Upsweep: 2°
- Weight: 35.4 oz
- Price: $79.99 (may vary)
6. Stolen Roll Bar
If you’re particularly looking for a 9.75-inch BMX bar with a little more upsweep, the Stolen Roll bar is what you need.
Made from multi-butted 4130 chromoly with P2 post-production heat treating, these bars are built tough while keeping things light.
At 30″ wide, they give you that perfect balance of stability and control.
However, I run my bars at just over 28″, but if I weren’t doing barspins, I’d surely run a wider bar (because it looks really good).
These are an awesome pick if you want handlebars that check all the boxes.
Roll bar specs:
- Width: 30″
- Backsweep: 10°
- Upsweep: 3°
- Weight: 34.7 oz
- Price: $79.99 (may vary)
7. Fiend Team Bar
So, if the Fiend team is rocking these, that must be something, right?
The Fiend Team bar in the 9.75” rise is fire.
The bar is made from 4130 heat-treated chromoly with butted tubing to provide a solid combo of strength and weight.
What I like about these is the no-nonsense approach – just solid construction and geometry that works.
The Fiend Team bar rides smooth and handles like a dream – definitely worth grabbing if you want bars you can trust and support Garrett Reynolds.
Team bar specs:
- Width: 29″
- Backsweep: 12°
- Upsweep: 1°
- Weight: 30.1 oz
- Price: $79.99 (may vary)
8. Premium Rasp Bar
Unfortunately, there aren’t many 4 piece BMX bars in the 9.75″ rise out there.
However, I found the Premium Rasp 4PC bar, and this thing’s a beast.
Made from seamless 4130 chromoly, these bars are crazy strong and built to take a beating.
They’ve even got anti-slip knurling in the grip area (such a cool detail!), so your grips won’t budge, no matter how hard you’re riding.
At 28.25″ wide (no need to cut them for many riders), they feel nice and responsive, perfect for street riding. Plus, the 11.5° backsweep and 1.5° upsweep feel natural and comfy.
These are the ones if you’re after a sturdy 4-pc bar with sick street vibes.
Note: For more options, check out my collection of the best 4 piece BMX bars.
Rasp bar specs:
- Width: 28.25″
- Backsweep: 11.5°
- Upsweep: 1.5°
- Weight: 36.2 oz
- Price: $79.99 (may vary)
How To Make Your 9.75″ BMX Bar Last Longer
Keeping your 9.75″ BMX bars in top shape ensures they last longer and perform better.
Here are my top tips to help you out:
Regular Inspections
Make it a habit to check your handlebars for any signs of wear, cracks, or dents.
Spotting issues early can prevent bigger problems down the road.
Depending on your riding frequency, once or twice monthly should be sufficient.
Proper Installation
When installing your bars, ensure they’re aligned correctly and securely fastened.
A torque wrench can help you apply the right amount of force without over-tightening. (Don’t go Hulk!)
Ensure you tighten your stem’s cap evenly so you don’t stress the bar clamping area unnecessarily.
Use Quality Components
Investing in high-quality stems can make a big difference.
They provide a better grip on your bars, reducing the chance of slippage and unnecessary stress.
If your bar slips too many times, the knurling on the clamping area will become too slick, and its function will drastically decrease.
Avoid Excessive Force
While BMX riding involves some rough handling, try to avoid unnecessary impacts.
Repeated hard landings or crashes can weaken your bars over time.
And what’s even more important – don’t throw your bike. Your bike can easily land handlebar-first and this can damage it.
Not worth it.
Keep Them Clean
Wipe down your handlebars regularly to remove dirt and moisture. This helps prevent rust and corrosion, especially around the weldings.
So, if rain catches you or your bike is stored in a moist area, wipe it with a dry cloth.
That’s why I recommend you store your BMX bike in a dry place to avoid unnecessary exposure to elements that can cause your bar and other parts to deteriorate faster.
