Keep it BMX!
Its roughly 10% larger platform gives you more room and extra stability without changing what the bike is made for.
The full-chromoly frame and fork, double-wall rims, sealed hubs and Fit/S&M parts make it ready for pretty much any type of shredding.
Of course, it leans more towards trails, park, pump track and transition riding. But street? Why not!
I also really like the classic Fit styling.
The bold finish, frame pad and crossbar pad give it a clean, traditional BMX look.
This isn’t a bike built only for cruising around.
It’s made to be ridden hard, while giving you a little more space to do it comfortably.
That’s what makes the Series 22 one hell of a bike.

2.1. Fit Series 22 Frame Geometry
The Fit Series 22 uses calm, stable geometry that suits its larger 22” platform.
Its 74.5° head tube angle keeps the front end pretty stable, which works well at high speeds.
Moreover, the 14.1” chainstay adds stability and helps the bike carry speed. However, at that length, many would think that it’s too long for anything technical, but it’s not.
My GT Fueler 22″ has a 14″ chainstay length (after I grinded it), and it feels pretty responsive.
Also, there’s the 12.25” bottom bracket height that keeps the ride balanced, and the 9” standover height gives it a proper BMX look.
However, I do prefer 22-inch-wheeled BMX bikes with taller standover height. A 9.5″ or a 9.75″ would be much better in my opinion.
3. How The Fit Series 22 BMX Bike Rides
The Fit Series 22 should feel smoother and more planted than a traditional 20” BMX.
You still get a proper freestyle ride, but with extra stability and a little more room to move.
3.1. Trails
Trails are probably where the Series 22 makes the most sense.
The larger wheels roll flawlessly through dirt, carry speed well and feel stable over jumps.
The longer top tube length also helps the bike feel more settled, while the S&M Speedball tires and alloy pedals offer the necessary grip.
3.2. Park
At the park, the Series 22 feels especially good in bowls and on transitions.
The 22” wheels hold speed well and make the bike feel confident through larger lines.
You can still do airs, manuals, 180s and regular park tricks. Even more advanced tricks like 360s, barspins and tailwhips.
Just expect highly technical tricks to take a little more effort than they would on a smaller, quicker 20” setup.
This is where I would like to mention that, as someone who rides a 22″, it would be so awesome to see a BMX brand release a street-oriented 22-wheeled BMX bike.

3.3. Street
The Series 22 is capable of street riding, too.
The removable brake mounts are a nice touch if you want a cleaner brakeless build.
But the larger wheels and longer frame may feel less snappy for technical street riding.
If your main focus is fast spins, quick whips and ultra-responsive geometry, this probably wouldn’t be my first pick.
If you insist, I recommend slamming the rear wheel and getting 22″ S&M Widemouth forks with a 26mm offset. I ride these forks right now, and they feel amazing.
3.4. Cruising
For cruising, the Series 22 feels nice and stable.
The long seat post is a big plus because you can raise the seat when riding between spots or around town.
And with the quick-release seat post, it’s easy to switch between your desired seat heights.
But it’s still a BMX bike.
It’s great for short rides and getting to your local spot, but it isn’t designed to replace a proper long-distance commuter.

The Fit Series 22 has a lot going for it, but there are a few things I’d think about first:
- The price: $719.95 is not cheap for a complete BMX bike.
- 22” parts availability: Replacement tires, tubes and other 22” parts are less common than standard 20” BMX parts.
- Slower response: The bike will not feel as quick or snappy as a traditional 20” BMX.
- More effort for technical tricks: Fast spins, whips and other highly technical moves may take more work.
